Donate to the Centre

What does it take to run the Centre?

The Heathrow Special Needs Centre is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities and special needs, providing a nurturing space where everyone is welcome to visit our animals free of charge. As a registered charity, we rely entirely on donations and grants to keep our doors open, as we receive no core funding from the council.

Running our centre costs about £75,000 per year, covering everything from veterinary care to maintenance of animal enclosures to ensure our animals live safely and comfortably. These costs also include the feeding of our goats, pigs, and chickens, as well as necessary services such as farrier care for our equines.

Annual Running Costs

During these challenging times, your support is more crucial than ever. Whether you can make a financial contribution or donate items like vegetables for animal care, non-bio washing tablets, or garden tools, every little bit helps us continue our mission.

Here are some specific ways your donation can make a difference:

  • £15 per week feeds the goats.

  • £40 per month nourishes our pigs.

  • £10 per week cares for our chickens.

  • £125 per month covers our farrier services.

  • £110 covers the cost of one week’s animal feed.

Please consider reaching into your pocket to support the Heathrow Special Needs Centre. Your generosity will help us maintain this vital community resource and improve the lives of those we serve. Your contributions, both monetary and in-kind, are greatly appreciated.

Susan O’Neill (Carer of a young adult with Autism)

The varied session content at the centre has been a godsend for my son, who struggles with severe autism. Seeing him engage with the farm animals and slowly open up has been deeply moving. His communication has improved, and so has his happiness.
