Volunteering – Helping Us
Join Our Team at Heathrow Special Needs Centre
Volunteer Opportunities:
- DIY Handyperson: Lend your skills for general repairs and maintenance around our Centre. We always have small repairs that need attention. No prior experience required; enthusiasm welcome!
- Visitor Liaison: Help welcome and guide our visitors. You’ll work alongside staff to ensure visitors are well-oriented and engaged in activities. Training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary.
- Animal Care Assistant: Join our team in taking care of the animals at our Centre. If you’re comfortable around large animals, that’s a bonus, but it’s not essential. Training will be provided, making this a great opportunity even for those new to animal care.
- Fundraising Assistant: Support our management team in securing funding through grant applications and identifying new funding opportunities.
- Trustee: If you are passionate about promoting opportunities for individuals with disabilities and special needs, consider becoming a Trustee. Our organization offers a fulfilling role in governance and strategic oversight.
Benefits of Volunteering:
- Flexible volunteering hours; your time and enthusiasm are what count!
- Learn new skills and gain valuable experience.
- Enjoy the outdoors and stay active.
- Make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
- Build friendships and be part of a community.
- We cover travel expenses.
Requirements:
- Volunteers must be aged 16 or above. There’s no upper age limit.
- An Enhanced DBS disclosure is required for your safety and that of our clients; this will be provided at no cost to you.
Special Opportunities for Companies: Heathrow Special Needs Centre invites corporate groups to engage in team-building volunteer days. Activities include animal care, painting, and gardening. We provide all necessary materials and are situated on a large site near London Heathrow Airport. This is a wonderful way for companies to contribute to a worthy cause while supporting the ongoing needs of our Centre.
Become a Trustee: Taking on a role as a Trustee offers a unique opportunity to make a strategic impact, helping to steer the direction of our charity. We are always in search of individuals with relevant skills and experiences who are committed to making a difference.
